This Privacy & Cookie Policy explains how Track the Cup (“we”, “us”), available at trackthecup.com (the “Site”), handles information when you visit. The Site is an independent fan project for following the FIFA World Cup 2026 and is not affiliated with FIFA or any governing body.

1. Information we collect

We do not ask you to create an account and we do not run sign-up or contact forms, so we do not collect names, email addresses, or similar details that you type in. Like most websites, our hosting provider and the third-party services below automatically process limited technical data — such as your IP address, browser and device type, approximate region, referring page, and the times you access the Site — for security, delivery, and measurement.

2. Cookies and similar technologies

We use cookies and local storage for a few purposes:

• Strictly necessary — a small entry in your browser's local storage remembers your cookie choice so we don't ask again on every visit. These cannot be switched off.
• Advertising — when enabled, Google and its partners set cookies to serve and measure ads (see Section 3). These are only used after you consent.
• Analytics — if we add traffic measurement, those cookies are also gated behind your consent.

You can change or withdraw your choice at any time via the Cookie settings link in the footer of any page.

3. Advertising — Google AdSense

We may display advertising through Google AdSense. Where you have consented:

• Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites.

4. Consent (EEA, UK & similar regions)

5. Third-party data sources

Match data shown on the Site is retrieved from third-party providers (football-data.org and the public-domain openfootball dataset). These calls are made by our server, not your browser, so visiting the Site does not share your personal data with those providers.

6. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal data, to object to or restrict its processing, and (in some regions) to opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information for targeted advertising. Because we hold no account data, most requests relate to the advertising cookies described above, which you control through the consent banner and the opt-out links in Section 3. 7. Children

The Site is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by a new “last updated” date at the top of this page.
